Everyone seems to be arguing. One glance at Facebook demonstrates how comments quickly turn toxic. So how can libraries make a difference? Can we create a space where people will both talk and listen? In 2016, the Poudre River Public Library District partnered with the Fort Collins Human Resources Commission to present four community forums on issues about diversity in our community. These conversations were complicated, controversial, and far from perfect, but they need to happen in more libraries throughout Colorado. Listen to our story and bring your own thoughts to share in the chat about how libraries can cultivate positive conversations within their community.
